Tile trends for 2020

With tiles continuing to be a popular choice for both interior spaces as well as outdoor living spaces, we look ahead to what is set to be trending in the world of tiles for 2020.

Texture

If you’re looking for a textured effect to your tiles, then tiles with added dimensions in the form of waves or ridges might be exactly what you’re looking for especially if your interior is largely monochromatic.

Be bold in the bathroom

Making a statement in the bathroom is slowly becoming the sole purpose and responsibility of the tile.  It has a starring role behind that basin or indeed across the floor in making a real statement and it will continue to do so with contrasting bold colour choices and geometric shapes and patterns. Think more hexagons, angled patterns and stripes and your bathroom will certainly be on-trend.

A touch of nature

Large format patterned tiles have been extremely popular over the last few years but next year will see some more eye-catching animal and nature inspired patterns appearing in large-scale floor and wall tiles.  Think speckles and animal print.

Majestic finish

Opulence and elegance have definitely found their place in bathroom suites over recent seasons and 2020 is no exception.  Precious materials need not be for those who can afford the real deal as tile manufacturers find more sustainable and realistic ways to make tiles glimmer and shimmer with the illusion of precious materials.

Bring the outdoors in

Fauna and Flora will continue to feature high in the top tile trends for 2020 as home-owners look to bring the greenery inside with large format leaf inspired patterned tiles.
