At Stone & Earth, we’re committed to managing the environmental impact of our production process. 

Every year we take improved steps to help reduce our impact on the environment to help create a better world for current and future generations.

Here are just some of the steps we’re taking.

Reducing Water Usage 

At Stone & Earth, our commitment to sustainability goes hand in hand with our dedication to responsible manufacturing practices. We understand the importance of conserving precious resources, and one area where this commitment shines is in our water usage. In our Bromsgrove factory, we’ve taken a significant step towards reducing our environmental impact by installing a cutting-edge water treatment facility. This advanced system allows us to recycle and reuse water, ensuring that every drop is maximised in our stone masonry processes.

Our dedication to sustainable practices doesn’t stop there. We meticulously monitor our water usage year after year, and we take pride in the consistently positive results we achieve. This ongoing commitment to efficient water management not only minimises our environmental footprint but also reflects our unwavering dedication to a sustainable future.

Sustaining our People, Not Just the Earth

Not only do we make sure we’re sustainable for our planet but also our people too. Other fabricators may not use water in their cutting but in turn, this creates dangerous dust levels. Silica found in quartz and other type of rock can lead to silicosis a long-term lung disease. 

While there are prevention strategies that can be taken, there is currently no cure for the disease. Using water in our fabrication keeps dust levels to an absolute minimum protecting our workers. Each week our factory goes through a deep clean too, providing better working conditions. 

Each year Stone & Earth’s staff in the factory will be visited by Occupational Health for a health screening. We pride ourselves on the results of these tests and are always looking to provide the optimal conditions for our workers. 

Technology Helping Sustainability

Our new purpose-built factory, showroom and offices are heated and cooled by a new highly efficient air source heat pump, proving Stone & Earth’s commitment to reducing their carbon footprint.

In recent years we’ve also made significant investments in digital templating, meaning that we no longer use any plastic template sheets in our production process. We’re continuing to work on plastic reduction and aspire in the near future to be 100% plastic-free in our factory and in all our processes.

Our dedicated carbon footprint team are always looking at how technology can help improve our sustainability. From reducing waste on the material to enhanced route planning for our vehicles we’re always looking to go the extra mile in a sustainable way.
